In 2018, the College of Arts at NTHU established the Spring of Tsing Hua Arts and Education Fellowship Program (simply referred to as the Spring of Tsing Hua Program) using donations from the Spring Foundation, which was founded by Honorary Dean Shu-Chau Wang Ho, to support the college’s development in arts and education, promote international exchanges, and aid in expanding the humanistic horizons of the teachers and students in the college. Under the Spring of Tsing Hua Program, the following projects have been established:

  1. Spring of Tsing Hua Scholarship|
This scholarship covers the tuition and miscellaneous fees of outstanding undergraduates for four academic years to attract top students in the arts field to study at NTHU. Beginning in the 2023-2024 academic year, new postgraduates are also eligible to apply for this scholarship.

  1. Spring of Tsing Hua Outstanding Art Award Competition (Joint Graduation Exhibition Project)|
To stimulate the creativity of current students and support the graduation exhibition of senior students, the College of Arts sponsors creative competitions organized by its departments, selects outstanding creations, and gives gold, silver, bronze, and choice awards to promote healthy competition among students. Joint exhibitions are held depending on the quantity and maturity of the entry works. The funds needed for graduates to participate in public exhibitions on- and off-campus are also subsidized by this project.

  1. Spring of Tsing Hua Art Lectures|
Well-known foreign and domestic art and literary workers, scholars, and cultural administration experts in arts and design, music, and techno art are invited to give lectures on campus and talk about their artistic creations, work philosophies, aesthetic concepts, and creative trends with teachers and students. This is also a required course to encourage students in the college to learn actively.

  1. International Exchange Events of Spring of Tsing Hua Program (including International Artist-in-Residence Grant)|
This project mainly subsidizes international academic exchanges, international creative art competitions, and other events held by the departments to cultivate the international perspectives of teachers and students. It also subsidizes international artist-in-residence projects, international music masterclasses, lectures, and concert events, in which outstanding artists and musicians are invited to the university to interact with teachers and students, developing the potential of the teachers and students in their own respective areas of expertise, exhibition implementation, and musical performance and encouraging teachers and students in the college to seek more possibilities.

  1. Tsing Hua Impression Technology and Art Exhibition|
This project reveals the past and future imageries of NTHU using techno art in large-scale installation art or creative artworks and emphasizes the interdisciplinary and inter-department collisions and co-creation of technology and art.
